Argo: movie review

I saw Argo only last week and I really liked it. I have a thing for the 70's and their filter photography, at some points it really felt like being in an Instagram shot movie, yellowish filter, long hair and beard, geek glasses.

Argo is a good movie but I don't know really how it got to win best picture... no wait I know! The best picture almost never wins best picture, that's how films like The Graduate in '67 or Brokeback Mountain in 2005 lost in front of what I consider inferior movies. More than the story, that in any case is brilliant and a great example of how sniffing in previously classified material can lead to very curious discoveries, I liked the photography and the soundtrack. The music was edgy and catchy.

For some reason Argo reminded me of Michele Placido's 2005 Romanzo Criminale, another deep dive in flare pants and printed shirts, uncertain future... but certainly Argo has less fire power than Romanzo Criminale. In my humble opinion the 70s (early 80s) are still unexplored territory for Hollywood and I sense there are going to be more movies made in that decade. What do you think?
