Sleeping habits

It's a while now I am suffering from discontinuous sleep, at least once a week. The symptoms are very clear: I wake up either too early or simply in the middle of the night.

Unlike some scary diseases describe, I manage to get back to sleep quite easily, yet the disruption is frustrating and eventually tiring. Many times I wake up because I am disoriented, or thirsty, or because I need to go to the toilet and I always get up and wake up to accomplish these tasks. I therefore say there are two kinds of people in this world. Are you ready for the big truth of the day?

There are the draggers and the resolutes. The draggers are those people who even if awake would never get up in the middle of the night. They suffer and crawl in their bed, with their bladders exploding and mouths dry as a deserts but they'll never, for any reason get up to stop their craving. The draggers drag along and know they will never get asleep again if they perform a conscious act. I am not part of this group because I belong to the resolutes. Resolutes suffer as much as the draggers but something miraculous happens in their brains: the acknowledgement that without doing something they're going to suffer for very long and action is needed. The thought of not drinking or not going to the toilet creates an horrific nightmare, where the resolute fears to pee in his/her bed or die for thirst. Trapped in this delirium the resolute finally decides to relief him/herself and gets up or wakes up. A slight difficulty to regain sleep follows what is an immediate enhancement of someone's physical and mental state.

What are you? dragger or resolute?
