Chromotherapy

Today my post is going to talk about chromotherapy. I was just thinking about it in the steam room I usually go to during weekends and weekdays. Absorbing the heat in my body, wrapped in steam clouds I let my eyes wander on the room ceiling and I found myself hypnotised by the lights changing colour at a calm and relaxing pace. White to blue, blue to green, green to yellow, yellow to pink and then again white.

Why is coloured light relaxing? What is the scientific explanation for that?

Wikipedia helps out, with a decent article about Chromotherapy. It turns out what I was experiencing was far away from being connected to Chromotherapy, as the latter is regarded as some sort of medicine and doesn't quite involve the  use of light. Yet those colours and the changing pace was soothing and I cannot help to think they were relaxing me in some way.

I always had a thing for colours, I think they have a profound meaning, especially when associated with people's personalities. Colorquiz.com was a pretty nice place to go every now and then; with a series of questions it finds your mood depending on the colors you pick.

Try it out, it was right for me most of times.
