Have you ever woken up in the morning and feeling you want to go to work? I did. It doesn't happen every day I must say but the feeling is not uncommon and is pretty familiar.
As a teenager I was of course a giant swot, not really studying so much but doing my best to have the highest grades and best recognition of my work every day by both teachers and fellow students. Besides the grades what always set me apart was the awareness I was someone, unlike others, who liked to go to school. I would have the usual difficulties in getting up in the morning, but I didn't dread it neither did I complain: I was looking forward to finally sit in my place and listen and talk and have fun. Growing up I realized the most important factor for my enthusiasm were the people I studied with and the same applies today for the people I work with. Thinking about myself absent from work makes me melancholic, as I wouldn't meet my colleagues and I wouldn't get to make stuff I like to do. This may be due to the fact I don't have a family to take care of at home and some of you who know me personally would argue I don't work for a common company. Yet I would miss the work environment anyway, I would miss the companionship and the fun I enjoy in an healthy work environment. As an exercise I ask myself how I would feel if I didn't see my colleagues that day and the answer is "sad", I would feel sad.
Enjoying the company of the people you work with ultimately makes a person enthusiastic about his/her job and this mindset leads to high performance and work satisfaction and why not, to good life. Are you ready for tomorrow?
